Digital Tool – “Let’s Fix Starachowice”
Short description of the tool
Destroyed. Reported. Fixed. This is how the Let’s Fix Starachowice application works. Thanks to it, residents can report any defects, on every street, in every corner. From holes in the sidewalks to a broken window and an overflowing bin. – People notice something sooner than officials who do not always walk the whole city length and breadth. https://www.naprawmy.starachowice.eu/ is intended to facilitate communication between residents and the local government. It is a simple tool for repairing the city. The resident – via the website reports the problem by marking the place of the incident on the map. He chooses one of the possible categories in the field of: infrastructure, nature and safety or the category “other”. He adds a description and a photo. The city services explain the problem and deal with its solution. If for some reason it fails, the resident will also be informed about it.
Challenges Addressed
Target group – all residents in the city. The website was created to shorten the process of settling matters in urban space – bureaucracy, lengthy circulation of documents. Thanks to the application, you do not need personal contact or a visit to the office. No need to call or send emails either. All you need is a description of the defect, location, possibly a photo and comments. After a few seconds, the intervention lands on the clerk’s desk. Such a notification goes to a person from the environmental protection department, who, after reading it, reports it to a specific department that can take action in this regard.
Key features and benefits
Efficient handling of matters in the urban space (cleaning, losses in the streets, technical problems, e.g. with lighting, etc.), quick reporting of problems by residents, better flow of information between residents and local government, building a sense of agency and effectiveness, better and more effective city management by law enforcement.
Impact
In the first months after the introduction of the application, dozens of applications were submitted through it within a few days. Now it’s from one to several in a month.
People can see it working. Because we already have less applications than before. This means that the condition of this infrastructure has been improved in recent years and there is no need to add so many applications. Only with the help of the Let’s Fix Starachowice application, residents reported over 1 400 interventions. Over a thousand is solved. The others are in progress.
Digital Tool – Project “E-services” – Municipal Application
Short description of the tool
The municipal application is part of a huge project called “E-Services”. The subject of the project is the development of electronic public services in the field of e-services and increasing the access of residents and institutions from the area of Starachowice to digital public services. The project of e-services in the city is implemented both in the city hall, as well as schools, kindergartens, libraries and municipal units. It has been implemented since 2018 and this year is the last year of its implementation.
We are modernizing IT services in our city so that the residents receive a full package of e-services. Especially for the residents of Starachowice, public services available via the Internet have been created, so that access to settling matters is mobile and easily accessible. We want every resident to be able to deal with the most important matters without leaving home
Challenges Addressed
Problems it tackles: poor technical condition of infrastructure and electronic equipment resulting in poor quality of services provided, bureaucracy, resulting in slow handling of matters by residents, the need to come to the Office to settle matters (time-consuming).
Key features and benefits
The project is primarily about improving the quality of service for residents. From the moment the system is implemented, each person calling the office will be directly connected to an employee who has the appropriate competence to consider the case.
The resident will be able to check on their own, e.g. via telephone and from any place in the world, at what stage an official matter has been reported by them. Thanks to the implementation of the project, the city’s residents will be able to pay fees in kindergartens and schools, submit tax returns, and check the status of local taxes. It is also an opportunity to use electronic journals in schools, book dates in sports halls, sign up for courses and events organized by municipal units such as Culture Park, Municipal Sports and Recreation Center or Municipal Library.E-services will also include: Booking a wedding date, Reservation and rental of the “Olimpia” Hall of the Municipal Office and the conference room, Applications to the City Council, Application for renting an apartment from the city’s resources.
Impact
Impact can be measured after the end of the project (2023)
