Digital Civic Participation V2.0 – DCP V.2.0). s.m. April 19 digital civic participation workshop was held for municipal employees. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss currently used digital tools and methods (participatory budget of the city of Klaipėda, inclusion of elders in decision-making, electronic municipality services, quality of customer service). Municipal employees present at the meeting indicated that one of the best digital methods is the participatory budget tool, which the municipality is currently implementing using the Consul program. Residents can submit their initiatives and vote for them using electronic means. Employees of the municipality said that more publicity should be given to this measure, training could be organized for residents on how to correctly submit ideas electronically, how to form an idea budget. It was also discussed at the meeting that it is necessary to educate the public on how to use various electronic public services.

A workshop for young people was also held on the same day. During them, they discussed what would be needed to make the municipality more youth-friendly and their opinion would not only be heard, but also taken into account. During the workshop, young people said that measures relevant to young people should be publicized with the help of opinion makers and conditions should be created to easily find all relevant information by pressing a few buttons. Young people noticed that there is a need to make more use of social networks and spread more information about the work of the Youth Affairs Coordinator, the functions of the municipality and the opportunities for young people.

The project “Digital Citizen Participation V2.0-DCP V.2.0” provides an opportunity to hear the opinions of young people more about the work of the municipality and encourages more interest in involvement in decision-making. During the implementation of the project, a hackathon of young people and a final conference in Greece will also be organized, during which a publication will be presented about the digital means of civic participation identified by all partner countries (Poland, Greece, Romania and Italy).
